I’ve always loved outdoor yoga and I miss practicing in community, so I decided to investigate who was offering this physically distanced, vitamin-D mindful movement option in summer 2020.
Classes are by advanced registration open except where noted. Be sure to visit the studio’s site to register.
On the day of your outdoor class , check your email or visit the studio or organization’s site or Facebook page for the weather updates.
Note that some studios are also offering a limited number of in-studio classes and many are offering virtual classes.

Flow Yoga Center offers outdoor yoga on Saturday mornings. July 4 will be at Stead Park in DC between Logan & Dupont Circles at 10:30 a.m. with Mimi Rieger. The previous week started at 9:00 in Rock Creek Park with Hawah Kasat.

The Cool Yoga Meetup group in Del Ray Alexandria offers free yoga on Wednesdays July 8-August 26 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Del Ray Psych & Wellness Lot (1900 Mt. Vernon Ave.), a tradition started in 2014!

- Outdoor Mommy & Me Get Fit After Baby on Fridays 11:15 am-12:30 pm – walk to parks around the Del Ray neighborhood to move
- Outdoor slow flow class on Saturdays 11:15-12:30 at the Madison Day School parking lot in Alexandria (203 E. Custis)

Annmarie Sculpture Garden
About a 45-minute drive from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge is Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, part of the Smithsonian Institution.
Register for yoga with Evolve Yoga and Wellness for the following classes through mid-July:
- Kids Yoga on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
- Adult Yoga on Tuesdays at 9 a.m.

Annmarie’s outdoor gardens and the Fairy Lolly are open!
Annmarie has revamped its Fairy & Gnome Home Festival into an Enchanted Summer at the Garden, a “low-touch/no-touch, multimedia, daily, outdoor experience of frolicking fairy fun” available through September 7. Check out the activity guide and map, which includes activity stations that go with art kits available on site.
The Murray Arts Center is open with Pandemic Postcard project and the Nature Nook and exhibits, but the ArtLAB remains closed.
Earth to Sky Arts Yoga Meetup
Earth to Sky Arts Yoga Meetup group in Rockville, MD is offering yoga in the park on Tuesday, June 30 on the playground on Fallsgrove Road at 7:00 p.m.
